My friendship with Barb goes back over 35 years.
Although we lived in different cities, my travels often landed me in Toronto and were usually highlighted by a catch up dinner with Barb.
Other visits in New York, Vancouver, Florida and even Kimberley helped to cement our friendship.
Barb was always warm and engaging asking endless yet insightful questions revealing her genuine interest in others.
My heart goes out to the Goldberg family.
The world has lost a true gem.

Dear Goldberg family,
I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Barbie. It was a shock to me, remembering her telling me about her involvement in dragon boat racing.
She was such a fine person, and I can''t begin to fathom your loss.
Life isn''t fair.

Hennie Patti, Laurie, nieces and nephews…I am so very sorry to hear this. Barbie will always hold a place in my heart. She is the very first friend I ever had… a friend I have known the longest!!!…she took me to my first hockey games (a hockey fan to this day) in the old Winnipeg arena and our many, MANY years on the volley ball court brought humour and dedication as your dad drove us to early morning practices….so many good times…but her athleticism was so encouraging to me…she also introduced me to tennis and running down the “Cresent”. We never did get our golf game in… my “nimble” skinny beautiful, graceful friend….i was so envious!…so many fond memories I will always cherish, Barbie is such a loving genuine human being.
My most sincerest, deepest sympathies to you all….so very sad. Gone too soon.

To all the Goldbergs and extended family.
Barb and i met 20 years ago and we became such good friends in a short time. We shared so many activities, travels, and just day to day life. Our love for our siblings, nieces and nephews was shared and so important. My heart is with everyone.
She was so special and is so missed.

Barb and I became close friends in a women’s basketball league. Our friendship took us on hikes and a bike trip to Italy. An injury kept Barb from hiking Kilimanjaro, so she just refocused. Barb inspired so many with dragon boat racing and her overall zest for life. I am both saddened and devastated by her loss. May her memory be a blessing.

To all of Barb''s family, I extend my deepest, heartfelt condolences. Throughout the many years of knowing Barbie, I always admired her for her warmth, positivity and sense of calm, as well her mean golf swing.
She left this world way too early. Her beauty will continue to shine in each of you, and may her memory be a blessing.

Barb is a relatively new friend ( 15 years) and through that time our relationship developed into one of mutual respect and love. Creating Dragon Boat Israel together she shared her expertise with generosity and compassion. She was so smart, thorough, dependable, communicative, honest, positive, straightforward, and always humble. My condolences are extended to the Goldberg family. I know how deeply she will be missed.

I have so many happy memories of spending time in Barbie’s family home, on Handsart Blvd, in Winnipeg. My family lived across the lane. Though my friendship was with Barbie’s younger sister Patti, Barbie was often there. I remember her always being so kind to me, and I remember her wonderful laugh. May her memory be a blessing!

My condolences to the Goldberg siblings, as well as Barbie''s very close extended family, for their profound loss of a truly loved and respected sister, aunt, and cousin.
Barbie was an exceptional person.
When recalling conversations with her, I remembered that she very kindly and naturally asked interesting and spot- on questions. This showed the speaker her caring, attention, and intellectual curiosity.
A very very special person indeed! All will miss her greatly.

Dear Goldberg Family,
Barbie was my “ sports” friend. We played softball together for many years and then graduated to playing golf together. We enjoyed many walks around Toronto as well. Barbie was a graceful, talented athlete and was always so positive and a great friend. She will be missed by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her. Please accept my sincere condolences and may the many memories you share offer comfort at this difficult time.
