I remember Alice so well working both at HBT and Britnell’s Book store.
She was such a knowledgeable literary reader….always ready to assist me with choosing books!
A very gifted lady who I highly respected! So sorry for your family’s loss. May good memories ease your pain of loss.

My condolences to all of you. Although I initially met Alice as she was was related to my late father (and by the way she was the first to drop off a wedding present!) I had my own fond memories of Alice. When I worked at Metro Reference Library I would pop by to talk books with her at Britnell''s. Alice was always keen to chat, and to discuss everything from the news to family updates. I am sure you will have only good memories

Alice was a special friend of Bill and me over 85 years. We were confirmed together at HolyBlossom temple. She always kept in touch. She loved her family and always had something nice to share. Feel sad that I didn’t get to the funeral or spoke to her recently…I have been very sick.

Dearest Andrea and family, Daniel and I were so saddened to learn of your beloved mother''s passing. Our sympathies to all who cherished Alice in life.
Our families were united by the gift of mutual family, but through the bond of grandparents, parents, cousins and especially our deep friendship through school and later in life, I never considered you anything less than my cousin and we were always vocal about that.
Love you, Andrea. You have the kindest, warmest soul. I look forward to going down memory lane with you and learning more about Alice''s journey!
With love from your Kates, Casavant family in Oakville.

A sad day to be sure: Alice Waldman gave so much to all of us. She adored her parents Sophie & Milton Blackstone, who were extraordinary, to be sure & she was the storyteller, ensuring that our history was intact. The facts, and the fanciful flourishes she narrated dramatically & you could imagine being there with all of the characters.
Alice was one of the most optimistic women I’ve ever met , regardless of such challenges she faced lifelong. Irwin ( Tooky) adored her.
I was fortunate to make several trips to Toronto & in between, our phone conversations were highly anticipated.
Thank you Alice, for being so strong, a great role model and for loving us all - always !! Tema & Hung-Kuan, Jonah, Mischa & Jenny

Dear Waldman Family,
It has been many years since our paths crossed. Alice used to run the library at Beth Tzedec and I was a frequent visitor. She was a wonderful lady and I am sure that many feel her loss. Hamakom yenachem etchem betoch she''ar avalay Tzion v''Yerushalayim.
