Ruthie was my dear friend through Cedarvale Public School, high school and beyond, even though she moved to Forest Hill halfway through Vaughan. Memories of watching American Bandstand with her mother, our teenage shenanigans, summer camp, the trip to Miami, driving around in her parents'' Camaro convertible, and being honored as her maid of honor with her sister Barbara as matron, are some that I cherish. We spoke a few times a year, and emailed, staying in touch while she lived in Des Moines and I in New York. Last time we spoke was three days before she died, and the sudden shock of losing a kind, warm, fun, forever friend is very difficult. Difficult for anyone who knew her.

Dear Barbara ,
I was so sad to hear about Ruthie’s passing. Our families have a very long history ….going back to WW2 when my mother lived with your parents while my father was in the service. Growing up we lived on the same street and Ruthie and I went all the way through Cedarvale Public School together and then high school. Ruthie was always fun and popular and I have wonderful memories of her.
I send you my deepest condolences,
Love, Marilyn
