    Notice:
ROTMAN, Morris - On Monday, January 19th 2026, Morris Rotman passed away peacefully at his home in Victoria, British Columbia. Moe's will to live had sustained him for the last 3 years, after experiencing a significant heart attack in the spring of 2023. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his sons Gary (Lisa), Mike (Sherry), and Bill, his stepchildren Jay, Rochelle, and Brian (Georgina), his grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Ayana, Nathaniel and Lilah, and by his loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law Roz and Nelson Zelding. The son of the late Fanny and Manny Rotman, Moe was a Justice of the Peace for the province of Ontario for over 40 years, until his retirement in 2012. Moe was also a well-known drummer, and member of the Toronto Musicians Association for many years. He played in several bands, and for decades acted as band leader, providing entertainment at weddings and bar mitzvahs throughout southern Ontario. Later in life, Moe took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his knowledge of Yiddish (his first language) with his family. Born and raised in Toronto, and having lived there for over 80 years, Moe and Linda made the move to Victoria, BC in 2020, and enjoyed the past 5 and half years living there. Donations in Moe's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.ca 1-888- 473-4636 or to the charity of your choice.
