Notice:
Born on July 27, 1934 to Jewish immigrants Sam Z'l and Annie Z'l (nee Dalewitz) Marr of Opatow, Poland. Larry grew up in Toronto's Kensington Market neighbourhood, where his parents ran a convenience store. He met the love of his life, Gloria Lax, in 1956 at a dance party at the JCC. He brought her home to his parents on the second date. Larry and Gloria celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in November. Larry studied at Queen's University by correspondence, earning his Chartered Accountant designation. He co- founded the accounting firm, Marr Foster & Co, where he faithfully served clients until his retirement. Those retirement years were spent wintering in Hollywood, Florida where he never grew tired of his view of the ocean. Throughout his life and into his final months, Larry enjoyed investing and tracking the stock market, a hobby which he shared with everyone he met. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Buffalo Bills.

Larry treasured his devoted family above all else. Larry is predeceased by his in-laws Carl Z'l and Doris Z'l Lax, brother Gerald Z'l (Helen), and his son Sam Z'l (Susan). He is survived by his loving wife Gloria and his sons Garry (Laura) and Lorne (Chantal). Cherished grandfather of Darren and Adam, JJ and Jacob, Vanessa, Beau, and Elle. He will be dearly missed by his nephew Shawn (Sabrina) Anker, who stayed close in his final days. Larry was the ultimate mensch. He will be remembered for his generosity, humour, kindness, and integrity. Thank you to all of Larry's devoted caregivers over the years and staff at Amica on the Avenue.

To sum up Larry's life using his favourite song, Nature Boy by Nat King Cole: "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."
