What a most wonderful service...l just had the honour of watching. The pride your Dad would have had in you boys...His Sons. I remember you all coming in the door at Ste.1201 Beutel Goodman on Eglinton. You were all so well behaved and little gentlemen as you waited patiently in the lobby... FOR DAD. He has taught you all to be exceptional people and to care about others. You won't remember me but l do remember you all. One day l was racing around the office handing out the latest office correspondence. Your Dad busy as all get out took the time to acknowledge me and to say: Slow down. I laughed and said: but it has to be done. As l raced away he yelled out: Run Shelley run. The twinkle in his eye you spoke of l saw many times. He will surely be missed! 💖RIP Ned

George Lengvari told me the sad news. I used to ski with the Gang in Beaver Creek. I remember many great things about Ned, but also cannot forget those wires attached to his legs when he was skiing! It is funny how you often remember such small details. I was lucky enough to work with Ned. I always enjoyed his company and appreciated his wisdom…for he was truly wise. My sincerest condolences to the family and please send a big hello to Anita. With my kindest of wishes, Rodney Rodney Hodges

You will always be loved and cherished for the beacon of light that you were to us and countless others. A Gift unto men! A Godsend! A Legend! Rest well in the bosom of the Lord our dearest Ned. I worked for this man for many years as a rep with Dundee Wealth. I admired him so much. He was a man that understood the concept of win - win. Probably the most important concept aside from treat people the way you would like to be treated. To say he was a success is but a small part of him, married for 62 years - amazing, raised 4 children -bravo, to start and run so many businesses- fantastic. You did not know me as I am a small cog in the wheel but when we really think about how grateful we can be our for our blessings your name is at the top of the list. Rest in peace my friend. Dear Anita, Jonathan, David, Mark and Dan. My sincere condolences to you and your families on Ned’s passing. It was such a blessing for me to work for Ned and his family for many years. From the first day I had my interview at his home on a Saturday afternoon to the last day of tears and hugs in the office, he made me feel special and welcomed in his family and business circle. As I got to know this “good man” I was in awe of his humility and kindness. He offered a bright smile every morning and though he was revered by all and feared by some, to me he was gentle man. It was an honour and extreme pleasure to spend so much time with him. I miss him every day. May your families be blessed with wonderful memories of your time spent with him.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Goodman family. I'm sorry for your loss. It was a moving service today, and your words paid worthy tribute to one of Canada's great leaders. I only had the opportunity to work with Ned for a few years at Dynamic Funds, but I learned a lifetime worth of knowledge in that short time. I was fortunate enough to have lunch with Ned on my first day at Dynamic, and starting then I took every opportunity I could get to learn from Ned's wisdom. (I believe it was also the first time I heard the double-ditch Dave story.) I have fond memories of being grilled by Ned during presentations at the Dynamic Partners meetings. His and the family's legacy still lives on in any success that Dynamic Funds achieves. Ned was a legend to us in the investing and business world, however even more inspiring were the stories that the four boys shared today about Ned as a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. A role model for all of us on how to put family first, while still achieving all of the success in the world. We will all remember and continue to honour Ned's inspiration.

Dear Anita, Jonny and Harriet, David and Bonnie, Mark and Lauren, Dan and Tiff, and your families. We were saddened to hear of this enormous loss and offer our deepest condolences. Mat and I have many fond memories of your dadNed - at Big Bay, our wedding, family celebrations and chats on Vesta. I remember going to the cottage for the first time and being quite anxious to meet the successful, powerful, iconic Ned Goodman. I worried in vain, for Ned was warm, kind, funny and incredibly down-to-earth. There was usually a crowd of family and friends at the cottage and when Ned would hold court by the pool, he almost always had a grand baby in his arms or a child sitting on his knee. Ned’s legacy extends well beyond the business world. We were lucky to have known him. Sending hugs and much love Kelly and Mat

Sending my deepest love and condolences to Anita, Jonny, David, Mark, Dan, and to the whole Goodman family. His legacy will continue to shine through you all. I have countless memories of being together with the Goodman family during my formative years. Ned’s generosity was evident in everything we did, be it at the home on Vesta, at Big Bay, or in Colorado. As a young teenager, it was easy to be intimidated when Ned entered the room. And then, on cue, he would say, “Hey Izer”, as if he was my best friend. He was the only parent of a friend to do so. I’m sure you’re taking comfort in knowing what Ned meant to so many. Much love, Izer

I was honoured to know Ned Goodman. He was a remarkable man. Ned had great energy and insight into many businesses, from mining to financial services and innovation. His legendary business acumen allowed him to create massive success with his many ventures, including Dundee Corp., Dundee Wealth, International Corona and many other ventures. He always showed up early and worked late. He told me he remained particularly proud of his contributions to Canadian law and business with his leadership in the International Corona Resources v. Lac Minerals case, which stands as the leading case by the Supreme Court of Canada on fiduciary duties and confidential relationships to this day. However, Ned's most striking features were his outstanding work-ethic, character and deep courage of his convictions. Ned will be missed and remembered for his many profound contributions, his love of family, countless kindnesses to friends and his great business successes. Please accept my family's sincere condolences to his family on this profound loss.

I am so saddened to hear of Ned Goodman's passing. My years of working at Dynamic Mutual Funds and Goodman and Company were some of the best in my life. Ned ran his companies with tenacity and class. He was a kind man who cared about those who worked for him. I remember how the company awarded its employees for years of service and the beautiful watch I received after just five years. Additionally, the RRSP contribution plan and stock option plan helped me purchase my first home. My heartfelt wishes go to the Goodman family at this very difficult time.

My heartfelt condolences to the Goodman family on the passing of your patriarch, Ned Goodman. He was a brilliant business man and generous philanthropist. His contributions in education alone will have a significant positive impact for generations to come. It was a privilege to know him and to work with the family in my five years as dean of the business school that bears the family name, and an honour to represent the Goodman School of Business in forming relationships with organizations around the world. Ned's generous contributions to the School transformed the student experience by creating a world-class facility for students to learn within and enabling opportunities such as paid international internships for students to serve in locations in the global south where they apply their new knowledge in support of entire communities. His impact is truly global and will long be remembered. May his memory be for a blessing.

When I think of Ned Goodman I smile and say now he was true to his name - a Good Man. I still remember the first time I met The Ned Goodman. My first impression was what a down to earth, warm man he was. Dear Goodman Family, We share our deepest condolences with you – in this moment of mourning, we want to share with you a story that only Ned could have made possible: In the below picture are three boys, Laurence, Isadore, and Lucian. They are here today because Ned founded the Goodman Institute of Investment Management at Concordia University 20 years ago. Ned gave us the place where we both received an amazing education and discovered our passion for the industry. Eventually, Ned gave us both our first shots in the business with Kseniya selected for the rotational internship at Dundee Capital Markets and Max selected for the Dynamic internship. Until he stopped driving, Ned would sometimes drive Kseniya home in his Jeep from 1 Adelaide and share stories and advice, with Max he reserved a tougher form of love called “help”. As time passed, we both got our CFA Charters that Ned was super adamant about and he always encouraged us to make our mark. Ned would turn a blind eye to Max using the oven on the 4th floor and then sneaking in to the 21st floor to bring flowers and croissants to the girl of his dreams before any other traders showed up. Kseniya and Max would eventually end up marrying four years later, and our first of three boys was born in 2015. Our careers blossomed because of Ned and the people that he invested time in who in turn perpetuated the virtuous cycle and invested their time in us. We frequently think of Ned and are humbled that the genesis of the blessings we have experienced in our lives – both personal and professional – will forever be the point in space and time where our paths intersected with Ned. May God bless his memory and your family. With profound thanks, Max, Kseniya, Laurence, Isadore, & Lucian Lenarciak

Moira and I offer our sincere condolences to Anita and the Goodman family. After many years in the public accounting and resource business,I joined Ned and his partners in 1987,when Dundee was just a concept. I did not know Ned well at the time, but found out a lot in a hurry.I had worked with some very talented people before ,but none like him. Ned would have more ideas in one meeting than most CEOs would have in . their careers .He had the uncanny ability to absorb information about a deal and see through to the end game in short order. Ned backed people and ideas and had many outstanding successes as the record shows. If situations were difficult as they some times were, he would be at the very top of his game in finding solutions He always had time to hear people out, and ,he treated the rawest rookie and the most senior bank president as equals. Ned attracted a legendary cast of characters who were looking for his backing. This cast could provide fodder for several novels Ned your family and the business community has lost a Super Star It was a privilege to have known you.

Ned Goodman was a giant in the mining and wealth management industries and I was extremely fortunate to have worked for him (as well as for Jonathan and David) for over 12 years under the Dundee banner. All who worked at Dundee benefitted immensely from his leadership; he instilled in all of us a want to do better for the company, for ourselves, and for those under us. My fondest personal memories are of our joint presentations to clients - feisty and fun. My deepest condolences to the Goodman family.

So much was learned while working for Ned and I owe gratitude to the tremendous wisdom he imparted on me. Ned was a teacher, a miner, a financial wizard, but mostly a very proud husband, father and grandfather. Ned loved life and took great joy in learning new things and telling his own stories of a life well lived. Once he believed in something, his persistence and patience to bring it to its inevitable success was admirable. Ned you were magnificent and will be greatly missed. In 1998 I had the good fortune of being seated at a small dinner table in Beaver Creek, Colorado with Ned and Anita Goodman. From that moment on they became two of my most favourite people. Ned always made me feel like much more than someone he knew through business, he made me and subsequently my husband, Geoffrey, feel like family. The wisdom he imparted and the time he gave to me will be something I will forever remember and cherish. On behalf of Geoffrey and myself, I offer our deepest condolences to Anita, Jonathan, David, Mark and Daniel, their wives, children, and all of Ned's extended family. Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet. I think the way I would summarize Ned is that it always appeared to me that he has led at lest three lives compared to the average person. The innovations he initiated and the breadth of activities that Ned started and grew almost defy description. He was at the same time the most inspirational and intimidating person I ever worked with. His breadth of knowledge and the speed at which he could absorb and dissect information left me speechless many times. I never went to meet him or appear at a Dundee board meeting without my trusty calculator after one encounter. He was also the most welcoming and down-to-earth mining magnate I have met and I will always remember being invited by Jon to come to a Goodman family dinner at Ned and Anita's home for an unforgettable evening with three generations of Goodmans. Ned was an inspirational and lovely man who will be terribly missed by industry as well as the many thousands of people who benefited from Ned's leadership, generosity and foresight. He truly is a legend. With great respect, Julian

When we think of Ned.., The memories that come to mind..., Aunty Mary & Uncle Charlie, One tight clan., We felt part of it..., So grateful for those times, Often Ned was off, Creating of life for himself, While we were still being potty trained, I believed he had a hand in our Plage Laval Go Cart Which gave us many bumps and bruises, Rolling down the hill, with each cousin, having fun at the wheel. And we don't forget ...Ned the Geologist...rocks were his thing. He always amazed us at what he was capable of accomplishing. He often pops up in Bobby's dreams...leaving him feeling a calm safe haven. Thank you Neddy Malcolm, Bobby, Isabelle.

Dear Anita and the boys and the entire Goodman family, I can’t express how sad we are to learn Ned‘s passing. My heart is with all of you at this moment dealing with such a tremendous loss. When I first met Ned, I was a long-haired 11 year old hippie from the other side of the tracks and he was a young 30-something old school business dad of four boys. I sat at their dinner table on Crestwood surrounded by Norman Rockwell prints and felt loved and accepted by an entire family. Jonny and I shared the dynamic of having many brothers, but I got to also share in no small way having Ned as an influence. Ned had a way of making you feel you had something to contribute, and he always treated me and my entire family with kindness. Anita and Ned included us as family, but more importantly set an example. Ned also was the first person to ever call me “Crayno”, and it stuck. Forever linked in my memory to Sinatra, skiing, oysters, and good family times…rest in peace “Nedly”. Love, Crayno and family.

To the Goodman's. My sincere condolences to you all on the sad passing of Ned. Someone said to me a few years ago that it meant so much to them when a loved one passed away and that that person expressed some little story that they remembered about that person. I have many fond memories of Ned from my days at Dynamic, especially when one President, who will remain nameless, at that time hung me out to dry when Ned asked about the Charter Dynamic Investor situation. Anyway, I always enjoyed my interactions with Ned and will always remember him fondly. Sincerely Jim Colley

In the summer of 1993, I was given my start in the investment business by Mr Ned Goodman. He was equal parts cantankerous and kind, and always marched to the beat of his own drum. As a founder of the Canadian Coalition of Christians and Jews, he was way ahead of his time when it came to diversity and inclusion. As my Dad once remarked, “he’s a decent human being”. I will always remember the opportunity and spark that came from those early days. I learned so much in his employ, lessons and skills that make me a better man today. Thank you Mr Goodman, Rest In Peace.
